today is the most embarrassing day of my P6 life... today is the 8 of August which is NATIONAL DAY EVE. now, you must think its really, really fun but when you have to do an Indian dance wearing a thick and ridiculous costume to dance on stage, i don't think so... my morning went like this...

i woke up when my sister's alarm rang.. she set it to 4.45am as her friend was coming over to make pratas they were supposed to sell in the bazaar( fun fair ) in their school later on. my sister made so much noise... she walked in and out of the room, each time closing the door behind her so loud as if to wake everyone in the neighbourhood... i didn't sleep a wink from 4.45 am until 6.30pm because she was so noisy.. anyway, i got out of bed only to find the whole house smelling like pratas.. so oily! my father sent my sister and her friend to school first before coming back to send me. muahaha. i was a little late and when i arrived at the red brick area where we were supposed to gather, practically everybody was there. i realised that i pinned my " 3-year " badge on the wrong collar and asked foong hui to help me re pin it. thanks fh!! we got into position and soon Mr Ho arrived. he was wearing a camouflage suit. you know the one they wear when there's a war? yeah he wore that. everyone cheered when he came as he doesn't wear anything different but long pants and a t-shirt in school. he even put on a cap which made him look so ridiculous.. no offence okay... when Mr Ho put it on, everyone laughed. HAHA! i was behind him, giggling away. we started the parade not long later. Mr Martin was our parade commander. he was dressed in white. as he shouted too much on our practices, he was losing his voice and when he shouted a command, some of them went out of tune. many pupils laughed but the contingents didn't. we marched in successfully, saluted when we sang the national anthem and said the pledge with pride. in the process, hui peng's sister was not feeling well and went aside to rest. another girl went faint and collapsed. the BB boy who held the FUHUA flag was not feeling well too and walked to one side to rest on a bench. luckily, no GB girls fainted or something. phew!! =D
miss taha, our principal, inspected us and talked to some of us in the front row. i was the last person and she said " Gail, you have many badges, how many years have you been in GB?" i replied " 4 years " and she said " keep up the good work." she seemed nice=) after we were dismissed, we rushed to change and get ready for the performance. i had to change into an Indian costume as we were supposed to dance to the song muneru valiba.. GB got that song for 3 years in a row!!! i was fuming when we received the news! Mrs maran helped prepare us for the performance.
after changing, mrs maran made us sit back stage while the other CCA groups could stay outside and watch others perform.. not fair!! we were sitting there sweating!! its was so warm in there.. when it was our turn to perform, everyone did the steps reluctantly as we hated that song.. jerrold was dancing and singing to that song while watching us. it was the most embarrassing moment.... ee!! can't believe i actually did it.. i was laughing through the whole dance as we were doing it very, very reluctantly... after the red cross performed, we prepared for the finale. it was the most fun! foong hui, rebecca, jerrold and issac sat at the back and we were laughing at jerrold dance to the song muneru valiba. haha! it was good. he should have took my place. at the end of the song " will you ", we threw the flowers wen wei was carrying. haha. it was so fun!!

after that, we were dismissed and i went to change back from my Indian costume to my GB uniform. now i know my GB uniform is more comfortable to be in than the Indian costume... ew.. on the way to the changing room, i saw miss taha and she asked me if i was going home alone. i said that i was going to change and then go home with my friend. looks like she's rather nice =) i made my way home with trixie and saw wanqi on the way, going for tuition. haha. i have been rushing to tuition after school for 2 days and now its her turn. wish her luck!!

A true friend knows you’re a good egg, even if you’re slightly cracked(:
